Chaquana Muhammad Townsend was born in Bronx, New York, and stayed there until she was four. As a result of setting her grandmother’s house on fire, she moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, until she was 13. At 13, she moved back to New York and stayed there until she graduated from high school. With her eyes set on Tuskegee University, it was there that she was introduced to Jesus. At the end of her freshman year, she attended a Campus Outreach summer project in Atlanta, Georgia, associated with Tuskegee University and it was there that she met the Lord.
The Lord began giving her a heart for the inner city community, her junior year in college. She never thought in a million years that she would have a heart for the same environment she ran from. She began as a Summer Resident intern for CGM in the summer of 2009 and every summer since then until 2012. The Lord has given her a heart and a burden for the people of Washington Park, and she knows without a shadow of a doubt, the Lord wants her here. She loves to build relationships with others, share the word of God, and teach dance and drama.
She is excited and honored to be a part of CGM to walk alongside the people in Washington Park and share the good news of Jesus Christ.
