John Mark Allen
In late summer of 2013, John Mark attended a conference in Chicago intended to train up leaders to engage inner-city communities for Christ. Challenged in thought, he spent a lot of time sitting down with pastors asking for wisdom concerning where he believed God was sending him. He was encouraged to find an internship with an inner-city church plant. January of the next year found him was scrolling through Twitter where a tweet that read, "If you are passionate about urban missions, check out CGM's Summer Resident Mission Program."
In John Mark's words:
That summer changed my life. I fell in love with the Westside of Montgomery. In 2016, again, I participated in the internship. Once again, this was life changing, and reignited my love for this city I now call home. I called my dad and said, "Pops, I gotta move." And so I did. Over the last year, as much as my time would allow, I volunteered with the program and did my best to make myself a positive part of these kids lives.
His continued efforts in making time to be involved with CGM's programs resulted with a job offer. John Mark is runs the lower school portion (kindergarten though fifth grade) of the Leadership Development Program.
