we are partnering with mercy house/map center in our after school program!
/Common Ground Montgomery's After School Program starts back today, and we're excited to announce that this semester will be a combined program with the Mercy House/ MAP Center (MHMAPC). We hope that by combining our resources and space, we will have a larger impact on the families in our community.
Regarding the combined program, Pastor Ken Austin, executive director at MHMAPC, said, "Our vans were behind their vans waiting in line to pick up students at the same schools. It just makes sense that we might try to combine our resources to have the best program possible."
CGM will continue hosting the After School Program, and with MHMAPC's students, there will be over 100 kids in the program, 3-6 PM, Monday through Friday. Along with the students, MHMAPC brings several teachers and support staff, along with education consultant Denitta Easterling (principal of TS Morris Elementary School).
Bryan Kelly, executive director of CGM, said, "We're excited to see what can become of the combined program and how we can better serve the Washington Park and Gibbs Village community. God can reveal great things when we work together to help our neighbors."
