Common Ground Montgomery’s First Class Pre-K 2024-2025 enrollment is open to all children who will be four years old (and not five) by September 1, 2024, and who live in Alabama.  

Registration Dates: January 15-March 13, 2024
Random Drawing Selection Date: March 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM.

This is a no-cost program.

Next steps:

  • Await random selection drawing for students.

Please note that enrollment every year starts in January and ends in the middle of March, with the random drawing proceeding the close of registration and parent notifications going out shortly thereafter.

*Enrollees must provide a copy of the child’s birth certificate (this may be uploaded into the pre-registration site linked above, or submitted to the program directly).

*Enrollees must provide proof of residency - either a current utility bill or a copy of a lease or mortgage statement (this may be uploaded into the pre-registration site linked above, or submitted to the program directly).

*Immunization records for the enrolled child must be provided to the program.

There is no registration fee.

First class pre-k

The CGM Pre-K is funded by Office of School Readiness (OSR) First Class Preschool Grant. There is one preschool classroom in the Annex building.

We follow the OSR guidelines to provide the highest quality Pre-K environment. Students are assessed using the Teaching Strategies GOLD program. Our curriculum is based on the Creative Curriculum.

Located in the annex building

The CGM First Class Pre-K, in the Annex (1623 Mobile Road), has a classroom for 16-18 children, a large bathroom space, and a play area outside.

The play area includes a tricycle track, playground equipment, and a stage area for the children.

REQUIREMENTS

Children must be 4 years-old by September 1 of the calendar year. School hours are 7:45 AM - 2:30 PM.

general timeline for registration events

  • Pre-registration starts in mid-January.

  • The slots for the random drawing will be in March.

  • Parents will be notified by mid-April if their child is in the program or on the wait-list.

  • Enrollment completion for children will be end of April.

  • Parent onsite orientation will be in August at the CGM Pre-K building
